MiXto CO2 Laser

MiXto Fractional CO2 laser:

Fractional CO2 laser is the most effective procedure to improve skin texture and quality, especially fine and moderately deep lines. Fractional CO2 laser stimulates collagen reproduction and the results are very impressive and more natural appearing than when relying on injectable filler alone.

Moreover, fractionated CO2 laser resurfacing yields dramatic improvement in skin tone and texture, evens out pigmentations and eliminates sunspots, as well as smooths lines, including those around the mouth and eyes.

What is the CO2 laser used for?

Fractionated CO2 laser resurfacing is used to rejuvenate the skin because it targets lines, textures, tones, and brown spots. It also stimulates collagen reproduction to tighten the skin. Although it is most often used to treat the face, the CO2 laser can be used to improve neck, chest, arms, and hand skin, and is especially indicated for softening vertical lines around the mouth and tightening eyelid skin.

How does it work?

About 20 years ago, full ablative CO2 laser resurfacing was the only technology available, and because the entire skin’s surface was removed at once, healing was prolonged. This created a higher chance of scarring and permanent pigmentary changes after treatment. Recently, the fully ablative CO2 devices were replaced with the fractionated lasers that offer both a faster recovery and fewer side effects. The fractionated CO2 laser works by focusing the microscopic beams of light into the skin in a grid pattern. The laser immediately vaporizes the tissue when it’s fired because it targets water, a major skin component. The resulting micro-wounds created by the fractionated CO2 laser stimulate the wound healing process that leads to collagen synthesis as well as smoothening lines and tightening skin. Because there are small areas of normal skin between the micro wounds, healing is accelerated. Normally, it takes about 5-7 days for skin to heal completely.

Post- Treatment and Recovery

Patients will receive detailed post-care instructions after receiving the treatment. Following the Post-Care instructions is important for achieving the best results, minimizing  discomfort, and avoiding complications.

After receiving the fractionated CO2 laser resurfacing, you will look like you have a bad sunburn and your skin will be warm. Initially, your face will be swollen in the first 24 hours, and it’s normal for skin to be moist and even contain some crusting. Over the course of 3-5 days, the old damaged skin will come off, most likely starting at the T zone area then spreading to the entire face. In some cases, the healing process completes in about 10 days. Although your skin will be visibly tighter and smoother a week after the procedure, the full results are typically seen at 3-6months later as it take time for the new collagen to synthesize.
